Set high on the hill overlooking Darjeeling the Cedar Inn is very picturesque. My first few days there were in the recently opened new section which blends seamlessly with the old hotel, The rooms are very spacious with gorgeous views over the valley. Bathrooms modern and clean but unfortunately bedcovers were old and stained. The food was wonderful and the... More

Regular power cuts, water restricted to certain times of the day and even then hot water not available when supposed to be and either freezing cold or boiling hot, no plug in sink despite severe water shortage. Old and worn appearance, smelt like it had been shut up for years, stained bedcover, sheets that did not touch the bottom of... More

A good experience in some aspects. In a strategically beneficial location in the centre of Darjeeling, it is in a great setting for any tourist visiting the town. The location was well-chosen, with coniferous forests, the hills and the town all in close proximity to the hotel. Mount Kachenjunga can be viewed from a few select rooms if the weather... More

My first impression of Cedar Inn was of the hospitable staff who made us comfortable and welcome .We had arrived from Pelling after a gruelling 7-8 hours on road. Cedar has the old world charm and the rooms have fireplaces to keep you warm View from the room is of the great Kanchenzonga which takes your breath away ! Food... More

View of Kanchenjunga from the window, the bon fire in the room and the lush green garden is what makes "Cedar Inn' a place to be in Darjeeling. The cottages are neat and clean and the chirping of birds around would add excitement to your stay. Friendly staff too !!. But the food options are limited for Veggies.

Look at the photo, and its exactly like this. Though its better known competitor Windermere is more charming and romantic, I would still rate Cedar Hill as the best Hotel In Darjeeling. Imposing building, Elegant interiors, very neat and clean, very good dinner, breakfast limited but very tasty, and the location is just perfect. It towers over Darjeeling at the... More
