Yeah i will recommend this one , its economical and the staff is ever smilling and give a warm service .The hotel is located near to the mall road and the food is good . The rooms are a let down but well compensated by helpful staff.
Rishyap itself was a remote location with not much of road to travel by. Hotel Sonar Bangla is the hotel closest to the motor road, yet last 300m or so of our travel was essentially over boulders. The other hotels in the locality are at further distance from the motorable roads, and anybody having a back problem should take note.
The rooms in the hotel are big and reasonably clean, but they do not have running hot water supply. In fact the locality does not have piped water connection. The overhead watertank is daily filled up from a truck carrying water. Hot water can be obtained on demand in morning.
The rooms in the first floor have nice, unobstructed view of the mountains including Kanchenjungha, on a clear day (we were unlucky :)
The hotel has an open area in front, but there is nothing much else to do. There are no shops or restaurants around. So your only bet for food is the hotel cook, who cooks ok, but the food is expensive, may be due to remoteness.
