I have stayed there for 2 nights (6&7th June, 2013) and I had terrible experience. No power back-up in hotel, no room service after 10PM to 8AM, water blocking in washroom, no telephone in room. Overall it is a terrible hotel and I would like to request you to think twice before booking such kind of rubbish hotel.

Darjeeling is really special...and the retreat makes it perfect...you wake up and see kanchanjangha from the balcony...the view point is just on the top of the hotel so spend time there as long as u can..peaceful and secured area...Rooms are very comfortable.. yes the hospitality is really great...specially by the manager , Mr.DP sarkar.. You must visit....:)

We had a terrible experience at the hotel. Dirty and unkept rooms, temperamental staff and average food. They are not prepared to manage groups and standard of service is low. The manager is a decent bloke but in totality it is not worth the money. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone at all.

Retreat @ Darjeeling is run by dedicated staff and management; and that shows. The property is clean, gardens are nicely manicured, beds, toilets overall clean (can be a bit better), The buffet that is served is pretty good - served in a clean dining hall. Sleep is very nice. And the location and views are too good.
