I had booked the hotel through phone and called back for confirmation before i left my city. On arrival they refused saying there was no booking in my name! Finally they agreed to give us a room but then we had to show them our wedding certificate.......people dont travel with wedding certificates but we luckily had it as we were... More

I STAY 3 days here with my friends. it have modern architecture, traditional hospitality and first-class services. The hotel is sure to please leisure as well as the business travelers alike. Some of the main features of the hotel are room service, peaceful ambience and homely atmosphere. Empire Royale Hotel was make my trip to Mumbai, a memorable affair.

Hard to find a decent place in south Mumbai. This comes close, but ceilings are vey low, so overall experience just 'ok'.

LAST place to stay in Mumbai- Empire Royale Hotel. Reasons : Rude, unmannerly, suspicious and unhelpful staff Harassment by front desk Seems like the first place officals would raid for unhealthy practices Dubious location/building Feeling of not being safe Very low roof Building might tumble down any moment Hard to locate the hotel (3rd floor of a dubious building)

Taxi driver brought us there then oddly hung about at reception with us even after I had given him a healthy tip. Realised later that part of the 4700 INR for a room for the night was going in his pocket as commission and he was waiting about for his cut. Rude staff ; supercilious, cold and sneering- made fun... We stayed 2 nights at the Empire Royale and found the hotel provided excellent service with a great location. What was pleasantly surprising is that what you saw on the internet (in picture) was exactly what you got - there are times where hotels sometimes look so much better in the photos than what you actually get - not in... I booked a room in this hotel at the last minute, as some other bookings did not work out. Though it is a little expensive, the location is unbeatable (right in front of CST station). - The hotel is maintained very well. The space they have is limited, but within that they've managed to fit in most necessities. - The... More

Stayed at this hotel for 3 nights. When you walk in, there's a strong smell of moth balls. When you walk into the room, they are spraying something. Either a pesticide or an air freshener. This happened twice, as I checked in 2 different times. The mothball smell is really strong in the rooms. The hotel is on the 3rd... More

Opposite the CST (Victoria) terminal, few doors down from the McDonalds, on the 3rd floor of a grand old building, recently rennovated. It is clean, secure and not bad on the pocket. The hotel's website photographs are accurate. The hotel is fine for breakfast and snacks but the other food seems to be sourced externally. Staff are well meaning. As... More

A recently revamped hotel opposite the CST train station - a world heritage site. The lobby is actually on the 3rd floor and the hotel in general is certainly quirky - i think the original floor has been split into two to provide rooms upstairs and downstairs so the ceilings are lower than usual. You do not really notice it... More
