Excellent Location. You can reach all main tourists attractions by walk. I stayed in deluxe room for 4 nights. Big clean room with good view on the TajMahal Hotel. Everyday cleaning. Good breakfast. Excellent service. The value is ok for Mumbai.

I stayed at the Hotel Diplomat for 3 nights, which concluded a 2 month trip around India. The location is excellent, I was able to walk to the train station, Crawford Market and the Gateway of India, among others. I paid about 3600 rupees a night (including taxes), compared with the 10,000+ rupees a night at the neighboring Taj. The... More

Forget about staying at this hotel if you got friends in Mumbai. It has a 'No Visitors' allowed policy which is firmly and inexplicably enforced. I brought a gift for my Mumbai friend from London. He came to visit me at the hotel and reception allowed him up to my room. We then went out for dinner and left the... More

Excellent location, friendly staff, lobby area needs renovation desprately - its cramped and shabby. The Hotel is generally due for a facelift. Standard rooms open up into the back ally and you get a view of the real Mumbai. The club bar doubles as the breakfast room - obliging staff, reasonable breakfast. Delux rooms look out on to the road..best... More

We have just got back from three nights stay in Mumbai at the Hotel Diplomat. We arrived in the early hours of the morning after a 45 minute drive from the airport and were dropped off outside the hotel which gave us the first impressions of "what have we booked". However, the friendly staff enabled us to check in swiftly... More

Not sure what people are complaining about, the standard of hotels in Mumbai varies. For about £40 a night this hotel is more than you will need if you are on holiday. The rooms are clean and well equipped, large windows and modern bathroom/shower. The breakfast is good too, the quality of food is not great, but given its free,... More

Extremely noisy, having a disco bar on the ground floor and was expecting a party on the roof with Techno Music. Hotel windows are so thin you can hear traffic like you were outside. No sound isolation. Some rooms smell oil or gazole. Hotel needs a complete revamp and major cleanup, wall cracked, moisture on the ceiling. I suspect positive... More

Worse than backpacker accommodation. No botlle water, no tea/coffee making facilities, all tv channels in Hindi with all other channels blocked, beds hard as rock & pillows even harder. Sort of kerosene smell coming from bed linen. Friday night disco with blaring music till early hours of the morning. Staff/managers most unhelpful & breakfast very simple. Paid for deluxe single... If you are a business traveller who has to stay in South Bombay, this is a great choice. The location is perfect. It is right behind the Taj and the room are absolutely clean. The location offers a great connectivity to most places. Due to its central location you are also surrounded by museums, cinemas, galleries, restaurants and the sea.... More
