This hotel is at Balard Estate and just at a stone's throw from CST railway station. It is a bit expensive but but keeping in view it's location and also the cost of decent acomodation in Mumbai,it is a good choice. There appears to be no lift a and you have to ascend through stairs.Suite rooms beside reception are good and clean.There... Its clean, room service is good, shared bathrooms are kept very clean and its in a great location for a walk to the main attractions around mumbai. Its expensive, but everything is in mumbai. If you have to stay some where for a few nights, its a good choice. If you just need a place to crash you can probably... More

We stayed here in December and we knew that this is a budget hotel with shared bathrooms. The bathrooms were quite clean, the towels we were given were probably the way you can expect them for this hotel. The room was quite small and we had one facing the street ... which means it was very very loud. However, it's probably... More

Clean, pleasant, and not too noisy (for India) (double Rs 1540 plus tax). Our room did not have a private bath – used a common bath down the hall, which worked OK. An OK room service breakfast is included in the price. Excellent location (in Fort area), within easy walking distance of Victoria Terminus (or CST, to use its current... More

Spotlessly clean and well located, you can't beat the Welcome. It's across the street from the GPO and a five minute walk from Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminus/Victoria Terminus. Within a couple of blocks are several respectable restaurants, and if you're a good walker, the Gateway to India and Taj Hotel are 15 - 20 minutes away. The hotel itself is on... More

We chose this hotel based on the very good lonely planet review but, whilst we usually agree with their recommendations, they've got this one completely wrong. Firstly the price was far too high. This hotel was 1750 rs per room without ac, a decent window or a bathroom. Although our budget was half of this which had never been a... More

The good: It's perfectly located just by the CST (train station) and if you can live with sharing the bathrooms, it's pretty cheap, being in Mumbai. The room I stayed in was clean and I actually had no problems at all during my 3 nights stay. The wifi was good, thought it's 150 rupees extra a day. The bad: you... More

After staying in a couple of hotel nearby, we decided to stay in the Welcome Hotel for a night. Double room without bathroom was rp2000+, if I recall correctly. Note that at this price, you can get a room with attached bath (smaller perhaps) in other hotels within the vicinity. Like other hotels in Mumbai, there was no 'monsoon season... More

Nice sunny rooms, shared bathrooms also nice. Room service a bit over-keen (always coming straight in with no knocking)... Free breakfast : Indian one is nice, continental not. Security are happy people. Overall a happy place and good value for Mumbai.

Where to start??? The Lonely Planet really got it wrong, this was by far and away the worst hotel my sister and I stayed at in India. Like a previous reviewer, I found that the service - or the complete lack of it - was what really marred our stay. As an example, my sister accidentally left her mobile at... More
