The room was clean. They have fix rates (and they don't pay commission, so probably rickshaw will try to take u to different hostels). Excellent customer service!! The tour they offer was good value, just 25 rupees pp, they take you to non-touristy parts of the city, to small family run fabrics of incense, bidi, carving...

The hotel is located very centrally close to Gandhi Square. We had a big triple bed room for 3 persons, where you were able to store all your luggage and to move at the same time. The room and attached bath room were basic, but clean. In the early morning we had warm water (which I always missed...). Our room... More

We arrived in Mysore late on a Friday night after our driver got lost and we missed the light fountain show in Brindhavan Gardens, which we were very keen to see and was our only chance to do so, as we were leaving the next afternoon. The hotel staff were so understanding and made us a custom-made timetable so we... More

We stayed in a room of the 2nd catagory for only 550 rupees and were very pleased! The room was friendly furnished, quiet, the bathroom very clean! A friend of us stayed alone in an "ordinary room". He had only a bucket instead of a real shower. But for that cheap price its really ok, also because the bed was... More

Hotel Maurya is right in the middle of Mysore. Close to the market and a short walk from the palace. I chose a budget room for 150R which had a squat toilet and bucket shower. The tap was high enough that you could crouch below it if you prefer that to the bucket option. I would have taken the 'deluxe'... More

Nice staff and nice hotel but after 3 nights (double delux room 550rs+tax) we had bedbugs in the bed, the mattress was terrible and so said the manager "first time it happened". I'm not so sure but never mind, you have to avoid this place until it's bedbugs free (so maybe not until a long time...). They can arrange all... More

I opted for the 150 rupees room as it looked clean enough, just a bit shabby. The staff seemed very friendly at first but there were some weird conversations at check in time, about foreigners bringing fleas to the hotel, especially foreigners coming from Hotel Dasaprakesh, or from Hampi. I assumed that they may have a problem at this hotel... More

We stayed there for 1 night and this was the worse hotel we stayed in India. - the electricity lost in the middle of the night and even though they have a generator (and promised to operate it if electricity falls), they did not do that until we complaint (the room was like an oven without the fan). - the... First tip - ignore the usual bus station rickshaw wallas who tell you Maurya is dirty and expensive. The hotel doesn't pay commissions so nobody really wants to take you there! Just insist. Our driver even told us that at night the road is full of prostitutes to put us off - I just asked him how much and he... More

I've stayed in Hotel Maurya on a number of occassions, and I have always found it to be a very comfortable and well-located budget place. The deluxe rooms are basic, but comfortable, capacious and well-maintained, and the hotel has a certain airy charm about it. The staff are invariably polite and helpful, and the bathroom facilities are well above-par for... More
