The photos provided by the agent who made the reservation by no means reflected the state of the hotel. Later I heard from my rental car driver, that this is one of the worst hotel in town. It is also quite a bit of walk from the palace (3 km walk is not that easy if you have family).
The rooms are dingy, cannot open the windows as they open to walls or the space between walls with pan spits. The room has a damp smell (do not know how we would have survived in an non-AC room with no means to open the window). After voicing my concern to the agent, we at least got the AC turned on. The toilet was unclean. The toilet seat had stains, the beds had stains (there was no bed cover when we moved in first). Over all this joint rates 0 or 1 star.
The room would have cost me INR 1100 inclusive of tax if I had taken it directly. Not sure if it is even worth that much money. Ooty has better rooms for INR 1000.
