I went to shimla at the starting of last winter in the month of November,11 with my family. I booked two rooms valley facing from NCS travels, Kolkata via tripadvisor. My travel agent always referred me this hotel for their hospitality and guess what, he was absolutely right! When I reached shimla station, one of hotel staff himself came with... More

Travelling as group of 4 we stayed in the Hotel Springfields for 2 nights in November 2011. Arriving by train the hotel is quite a drive away, around 30 minutes, it is right over the other side of the city. You will need to leave plenty of time if catching a train to Kalka. We walked into the city centre... More

This hotel was built during the reign of the British Raj. It is situated quite some distance from Shimla railway station and the Mall/Ridge. Its design is the 'patten' used by the Raj during the 1920's onwards which you see all over Shimla: long and low 2-storey with a coloured corrugated roof with long 'postage stamp' style windows. The hotel... More

This little hotel is a healthy 30 minute walk from Shimla town centre. It has seen better days but we rather liked is fadedness and were happy to be awoken by the squabbling monkeys on the roof and the singing children in the school for Tibetan children opposite. The room was huge, rather like staying in an English country house... More

Cute hotel away from the hustle and bustle of Shimla. Lovely garden , good view of the valley . Good wholesome meals . hot kettle with provisions for tea coffee was a boon. Enough plugpoints in the rooms. Helpful and pleasant -- well trained and english speaking staff. Lovingly kept heritage property. We had a great stay and a memorable... More

Hotel is situated 6 KMS from Shimla, on a downhill road. It has very small poorly maintained garden and reception area. The rooms are large but again poorly maintained, with no proper heating of the rooms. Even there are power cuts and there is no power backup. There is a stinking smell because of wooden floor and dusty carpets. View... More

This was a quaint and charming little place- the first time we entered the gate to the hotel, it seemed more like a house- a leftover from the British Raj days and the interior lent more credence to that. Colonial furniture and old mementos gave it a cozy look. since there were many rooms available, we had our pick of... More

I stayed at Springfields at the end of a two week trip in H.P.; it was just what I needed - a peaceful and quiet place to stay with friendly, helpful staff and a good kitchen. If you want to be walking distance from The Mall, this is not a good choice as it is about 1 1/2 km. away... More

It was our Honeymoon trip and we had booked the hotel from Mumbai and was waiting to see how the hotel is , but to our surprise it was like an ancient Heritage situated in Chotta Shimla. The room was spacious with wooden flooring and was elegantly designed with fireplace. It was built by Mohammad Yahya Khan from Lahore.Service of the... More
