Jandev Castle is located in the interiors of Himachal Pradesh, and is owned by a descendant of a royal family, named Mr. Anirudh. It is actually his home, and he has converted rooms on the upper floor to accommodate guests. It is quite a drive to get there (from Chandigarh or Shimla) and is best avoided in the monsoons.
Once you get there, there is ample space to park vehicles. The rooms for accommodation are well done and spacious. There is a viewing room across the balcony where one can enjoy a warm drink and take in the spectacular view of mountains across the valley.
There are hiking trails down to the river. Meals, prepared by the expert cooks, can be had with the owner in the family dining room.
This place is great for a couple of days relaxing holiday. Not for those with arachnophobia though- spiders the size of small saucers abound!
