For one of our biking excursions, I & my friend decided to visit Shimla. It was late evening till we manage to leave from Chandigarh (though we had pledged to leave maximum till 4:00p.m.). Thats why, we had to take an overnight halt mid-way & we reached Shimla the next morning. As soon as we reached, we started the search for a hotel. However looking at the population & tourist burst at Shimla nowadays, we absolutely did not want to take-up a hotel in the middle of the town.
We were looking for a peaceful hotel away from the bustling city traffic & noise but not too far to come back walking as well. Thats when after more than an hour of search & checking out a number of hotels, we came accross "Alpine". It was an instant hit for us. The hotel had a nice ambience with a British-colonial touch.
