Madhusudan was an excellent host. The hotel is in a very quiet block, which is a rarity in Delhi! It's also right next door to Haus Khas market, most things you might need will be just round the corner. Probably the most relaxed place I've stayed in India. Will go again!

On March 2, 2011 a group of friends and I stayed at the Urban Ashram. The reservation made by our travel agent in Buenos Aires left us with great expectations after reading the reviews written by other travellers. I must say, and my views are shared by all in our group, that the place was dirty to the point where... More

I stayed in the Urban Ashram for a lengthy period, what was supposed to be a few days at first I chose to stay here the rest of my time in New Delhi. The Host and staff of the hotel were extremely welcoming, ensured I received the needed advice and made me feel like home. As a solo traveller, this... More

Delhi's a vast city, spread over a very large area - wherever you are, you can never be close to all the old and new parts, sights, parks, districts and urban villages that make up the city, so the ideal base is somewhere comfortable, central and easily accessible, peaceful, secure and friendly. Urban Ashram ticked all the boxes for us... More

My husband, daughter and I spent 3 days in New Delhi, India at the Urban Ashram Bed and Breakfast. It was recommended to us by mutual friends and we were very pleased. Mr. Madhusan made arrangements for us to be picked up at the train station (we said New Delhi station, but we arrived at a different location – Madhusan... More

I have stayed in a number of hotels/hostels around the world and I can confidently say Urban Ashram is place with a personal touch putting individual customer service first. Location: Great location in Haus Khas near the main shopping street. A bank is right opposite which is useful and it is a 30 minute walk or 10 minute rickshaw ride... More

Having lived in Delhi years ago I knew we wanted more comfort than in a cheap Paharganj travellers hang-out but something less ruinously expensive and more homely than a five-star hotel . . . so this place was a real find. VERY well located on a quiet street in a leafy South Delhi neighbourhood where you can potter about without... More

Good spot. A little less crazy part of town. Very close to Hauz Kauz an excellent spot for shopping, ruins, park, and restaurants. An easy trip by rikshaw gets you to metro or inner city. The manager is very thoughtful. Particularly conscientious to the new visitor.

Urban Ashram is in perfectly-located and not-overrun Hauz Khas, has a clean, comfy, casual atmophere and a great host in "Matty". It was a convenient and affordable stay for me. This is where I will stay again, and also tell all my friends to stay.
