this hotel is somewhat out of the city in a tibetan refugee camp although taxis were easy to find near the hotel and a short ride to Old Delhi, where most tourist attractions are located the staff was very nice and helpful, the room clean, and the food great & well-priced.. another big plus: no need to negotiate the rooms,... Great place to stay while in Delhi. I saw some complaints about the mattresses there but they all seemed to be about the same in India. The only thing that sucks about this place is that it takes some time to get to the heart of Delhi and finding a working ATM can take way too long. Use the one... More

Food was great as was the friendliness of the staff. It is basic and that was what we expected. loved the calm / Bhuddhist feel of the area and the fact that a few monks from Bhutan were staying at the same time. If you want silver earrings then the street markets here are better value and standard than the... More

We stayed here for 3 nights before heading to McLeod ganj in northern India. They have a nice little restaurant and a money exchange office. The workers were really friendly and the restaurant had awesome banana pancakes. It's located right along the main strip of manny ka tilla just down a small alley. Rooms are decent sized and what you'd... More

The resturant has great food. Staff were friendly, helpful. I arrived at 2 a.m. and the driver was there to meet me at the airport. The place if clean, modern. If your looking for a comfortable bed, forget it. You can't even get a thumb print in the mattress. Its in the heart of the Tibetan community, so its a... More

Wongdhen House is a great find on all fronts, quality for the money, friendliness etc. We were in India for 6 weeks with Delhi as the hub of our trip and its got great service and a great restaurant. It is in the Tibetan community of Majnu Katilla. The area has plenty of internet access and good, tasty and safe... More

I stayed four nights based on reviews. Big mistake. The neighborhood is a former slum, and still smells the part and crawls with beggars. When I left and went to Goa I found that all my clothes had picked up the heavy odor of excrement which permeates Manja Na Tilla, this Tibetan area far from any point of interest. I... More

They call The Tibetan Colony (Majnu-ka-tilla) 'Little Dharamsala', It meant we had to brave the sometimes-heavy Delhi traffic just about every day to get into town in a rickshaw, although you could catch the Met with a cycle rickshaw to the station. But it was lovely to live in amongst the generous nature of the Tibetan culture and near the... More

Wonghen house is very clean, and a good price. I liked the location because it is a quieter and friendlier area of Delhi, but it is further from the main sights also. The staff wasn't always as friendly as I'd expect, but they were also very busy and totally booked every night. The food was good, and the chai was... More

Wongdhen Hotel was a pleasant surprise. The ladies at the front desk are really nice and helpful. Although Wongdhen's on the outskirts of Delhi, it's worth staying here for the peace and quiet, away from the hustle bustle of the city center. Singles ranged between 375 to 450 rupees, though they'll be raising prices about a hundred rupees soon. My... More
