Noisy room close to the busy road. Dirty curtains pinned together with paperclips. Curtains permanently closed. Filthy pillows, stained pillow cases, 6 inch hole in sheet, flea in bed! A disgusting room.

Lonely Planet recommends this place as “our pick”—it certainly wouldn’t be mine. Our room had all the ambiance of a prison cell—scarred, moldy walls, a filthy shower certain, a shower that leaked water all over the floor, no shower mat, etc. A clump of feces on the wall. The closet was gutted—no shelves and no place to hang clothes. No...

We had high expectations as this place was a pick of Lonely Planet and was the most expensive room we would treat ourself with during our time in Sri Lanka. But it was a big disappointment. Room was very basic, no hot water, not really clean and the management was not friendly at all. Unlike everywhere else in Sri Lanka,...

This place is seriously overpriced, badly maintained and our room was grimey and didn't look like it had had a good clean in a long time. We were quoted 5000 rp a night over the phone but charged 6000rp on check out. No amount of remonstrating got the price back to what was quoted. Yes it's a nice view but...

We were pretty exhausted when we arrived in Sigiriya so we didn't have much energy to check out many hotels. We chose a 6000 rupee room with air con at the Sigiriya Rest House. It was the most expensive room of our whole trip and definitely over priced. The furniture was tired, the air con barely functional and the TV...

The reason to stay here is the location - it's directly across from the rock with great views from the verandah. Rooms are ok, would be better with mosquito nets, bigger pillows, hot water but overall not bad. Nice seating area outside every room for drinks, reading, etc. and staff is very helpful and friendly. Good choice in mid-range category...

Nice but very simple, has a colonial look and some "old buerau" atmosphere, the man at the bookings is a real character.
service is very good (the laundry service was great!) as well as the rooms (all at ground floor facing the common area).
big wooden chairs looking the simple garden and a old time travel charme.
the attached restaurant...
