Nice man (mr. Saman) that took us over there. Very nice place. Very quit. Nice view from to room on the Sigiriya Rock. The food is good. Mr Saman gave us fresh and nice fish. Also breakfast was fine. The Arrack was also nice in the evening :)

The location of the guesthouse is divinely – quiet and amidst a park with lush trees inhabited by monkeys and sqirrels, and with a direct view to Sigiriya rock from the balcony. The rooms are freshly renovated, large, very clean, painted in a fresh green. The large beds are comfortable and equipped with large mosquito nets (without holes). As it...

Newly decorated, clean rooms in a mid jungle location, near to the lion rock. Was slightly busy road near-by. We appeared to be the only guest so was cautious with menu choices. Thank god as I was a little shocked after breakfast the next morning by food prices - roughly double what we had been paying elsewhere. Seemed really quiet...

My wife and I were extremely disappointed with the one night (New Years Eve) we spent there. The rooms were rather sub par and the food was terrible. We could not get out of there fast enough. We did not even stick around for breakfast. Our tour operator was also shocked by our experience. Avoid!
We stayed at the Lion Rock Hotel by accident, our driver who did not speak a word of English (but still all smiles and friendly) dropped us here instead of the different hotel the tour operator had recommended to us. A nice accident, as the luscious trees and green are welcoming you when you walk in. Clean spacious rooms and...

This hotel was organized by our tour operator, so we really had no idea what to expect. The hotel turned out to be much nicer than we originally thought! You can read about the full experience on my blog: www.daviddeclercq.com
Here's a quick rundown:
Pros:
Rooms: Large and quite clean. They have a mosquito net to help guard against nasty...

Some of the earlier reviews have no relation to the hotel we stayed in. Thoroughly enjoyed. All the staff were really helpful. Wide selection of food on the menu, Wi-Fi. Rooms were great with running hot water. Owner was helpful and gave us info on where to go and even an umbrella when it was raining. Also this hotel is...
