Stayed for one night as part of a tour, fulfilled by Aitken Spence, for Mercury holidays. We were given a renovated room on the same level as the restaurant. Public rooms are acceptable, and staff, in general, are very pleasing. Food excellent and Executive Chef cooked a special meal for us when he heard of our dissatisfaction. We had two nights here on first floor - rooms are much in need of refurb. Bathroom tiles & plumbing terrible & a/c noisy. Balcony to tiny to fit chairs but the views are great. We didn't stay at Hotel Topaz, but came to use the pool as the Lonely Planet recommended it as a friendly place. Not so!
