Wonderful location right on the beach. Airy, cool and spacious lobby. Room very clean with balcony looking towards the sea. On main road but didn't notice. Food exceptional, in range and quality. Staff friendly and helpful. Stayed here 6 nights during 1st test match at Galle March/April 2012. Couldn't recommend it too highly. Eating beside the sea was unforgettable.

I stayed in the new rooms in February just after the inauguration ceremony. Stayed for 5 nights at end of Feb. When we arrived we were greeted with drinks and cold towels. I read the older review of the Citrus. I think they were written before this hotel revamped itself. They told us that they had just opened. As far as the water goes (solar heated for each room) was plentiful and plenty hot, except that the controls were backwards, so maybe the "no hot water" reviewer did not figure that out!... More
