Olaza's exceeded our expectations for Huaraz. The rooms are clean, the beds and comfortable, and the bathrooms are very nicely finished and have lots of hot water. There is a small noise problem but it isn't overwhelming. The open courtyard seems to echo every sound. The staff don't speak English but they try their best to please and comfort all... More

Probably the best place we've stayed in 6 months of latin american travel with hotel el sol in panajachel a close 2nd. Feather duvets which feel like home were biggest plus for us. Really clean room with hot powerful shower. Decent breakfast on terrace. You seem to get stale rolls everywhere in peru. PC with good internet, tv/film lounge room... More

We really loved our stay at Olaza. - The room was one of the biggest and best furnished we've stayed in anywhere on our trip. - The water was hot and the water pressure was great. - The common area had a nice flat screen TV with a DVD player that plays XVID and DIVX movies from a USB stick.... Since the first day we checked-in. There's two girls who always took care of us. Helped us plan where to we go. Also they have a taxi service to go up those Mountains. We used the service and the taxi guy he's great. The hostel is decorated really cozy. The top floor is the lounge where you can find kitchen... More

We stayed at Olaza's several times Aug-Oct 2011. It is a nicely appointed, well thought out and "boutique-ish" style hostel. The staff are very friendly, helpful and accommodating. The owner Tito is very knowledgable about the area and speaks English. The rooms are big, nicely furnished, with down comforters and brightly coloured soft cotton sheets on comfy beds, and are... Stayed here before and after trek, the rooms and particularly bathroom were spotless. Beds comfortable, lots of space to organise gear. Rooftop terrace and inside area was very pleasant. WiFi worked quite well with a reasonable speed, computer in main area has an SD card slot to back up photos. Breakfast was basic, but come with a French press coffee.... More

We arrived at Olaza's at 5am in the morning and from the get go felt at home. The staff are incredible, full of great advice and certainly willing to go the extra mile. We planned a hike to Lago 69 (a must) and were leaving at 6am. Preparing food at 05:30 was apparently no hassle and we arrived upstairs to... More

Very nice b&b: small, clean, very well-kept. It has a lounge with excellent internet, tv, books, and a log-fire to chase the cold at night. Breakfast on the terrace is an experience! Owner Tito very friendly. Close to the center. 4 Stars!!

The positive first: the rooms are big and clean, the beds are comfortable and the owner Tito is very nice and helpfull! The breakfast is minimal but o.k.; if you like more or different things, you have to pay (and to wait...) Now the negative: the staff (concrete the staff responsible for the kitchen and the breakfast) seems to be... More

Olaza's Guest House provided us with an an AMAZING 10-day stay in Huaraz. We felt welcome, safe, and immediately at home after our first night. Binders (in English) on local activities, hikes, and transportation options provided great ideas for every day, and splurging to have Javier and Carlos taxi us to destinations was well worth every sole. Breakfast on the... More
