My daughter and I had hiked with a trekking company. Therefore, the hotel had been booked by the expensive trekking company I used (Llama Path) and not by myself. Having said that, I wish I had paid extra money for an upgraded hotel. This place reminds me of the one-star hotels I stayed in when I was poor and in... More

I was pleasantly surprised with the quality of this hotel in Agua Calientes, even more so after taking a walk around the town! I had made an advance reservation and was met at the station by a lovely lady, who informed me that I needed to buy my bus ticket to Machu Picchu in advance, so we did a detour... More

I was a bit unsecure as pre-booking by one of the major booking agencies wasn’t possible. I only had an email confirmation from the hostel, but in many hotel reviews from tripadvisor It was stated that this doesn’t have to mean a thing. But with the Wiracocha Inn it was’t a problem. When you arrive in Aguas Calientes watch out... More

Obviously, a tourist town. Expensive city without a lot of great options. We found this place to be much nicer than expected, with bathrooms that worked, a heater and a fridge and a clean room. Hotel staff were pleasant. They did not have our reservation though, so I had to show my copy of it for them to give us... More

The hotel is relatively easy to get to from the train station, and the room we got was pretty nice (see photo). The main thing that struck me about this place was the friendly and helpful staff (quite unlike other hotels on our trip to Peru where staff were more serious). When we got back from Machu Picchu in the... More

I recently stayed in this hotel with 3 friends. We were pleasantly surprised, they met up with us at the train station and led us to the hotel. Our room was very clean, the beds were extremely comfortable with down duvet. Breakfast was ready at 5am which gives you plenty of time to get to Machu Picchu really early. I... More

This is a perfect little inn for an overnight halt in Aguas Calientes. Its a short walk from the train station and an even shorter walk to the bus station if you plan to take the bus up to Macchu Picchu the next morning. There are plently of dinning options around the inn. The room was spacious and the facilities... More

The bedroom and bathroom were in good condition. The place is simple with few amenities, but all we wanted was a cheap place to stay in Aguas Calientes. I have included photos that show a contrast with the negative experiences some others have had in the past. The family members that run the establishment were very friendly and helpful. They... More

Let me start by saying breakfast was great...I should have known the game from them asking for a passport and taking no credit cards. But alot of places in Peru operate like that.. So we took the room and there was construction right outside our window all night, even though they said it would stop at night. The room was... More

In all fairness, the hotel was going through a lot of construction when I was there. They're adding several rooms. By now, I'm guessing each room has working televisions too, something you don't find in more budget oriented hotels in Peru. Breakfast was acceptable. Located by the river...lots of rushing water sounds! :) If you're going to Machu Picchu &... More
