The room was clean and dry and the staff was polite and helpful. The restaurant breakfast was just enough to fill us, so no concerns there. What impressed me was that somebody was waiting at the train station with a sign for us even though we hadn't asked for it. Our kids saw the sign and asked if that was... More

There are A LOT of stairs!!!! Many...then when you get to the hotel lobby there are more and even in our room there were stairs! That being said we are young and in good shape and the view from our bed was breathtaking! The place is beautiful but our first impression wasn't the best, they put us in a different... More

The rooms here felt like a summer camp cabin. Slightly musty and clean enough. This place is a few flights up and I was terribly winded after every ascent (and I live in a 5th floor walkup), because of the altitude, among other things. Those are my only complaints and I think that in Aguas Calientes, you can't do better... More

For some context, it's important to understand that Aguas Calientes is purely a tourist town. This was, after all, the only place in Peru where a business owner (at a restaurant) tried to rip us off. Rupa Wasi is a sanctuary from that kind of mentality both in atmosphere and in the attitude of its staff. While centrally located, Rupa... More

After 4 days of hiking the Inca Trail and sleeping on the ground, this little lodge was luxury. It is quite the trek up a few steep hills to find it (but totally worth the walk). Comfortable beds, beautiful decor, clean, quiet, great restaurant and an amazing value - I will recommend it to all my friends and family going... More

Rupa Wasi is the ideal place to stay after completing the gruelling 4 day 45 kilometre Inca Trek. The accommodation is well appointed, bed very comfortable, staff friendly and helpfull and the restaurant sensational. It is not cheap but then Peru is not as cheap as you might think anyway. It is great value and I would highly recommend it.... More

We stayed here for one night and took the first bus to machu picchu. We booked room nr. 2 and got an upgrade for room nr. 4. This room was lovely with hot showers. breakfast was yummy and the staff very friendly. We can NOT complain. but Aguas calientes really is not a place to be longer than necessary, but... More

Almost decided to spring for the Sanctuary Lodge, but glad we went here. We stayed in room 5, which has a great view of Aguas Calientes and the surrounding valley and mountains. Just a beautiful setting. The room was fine, the bed was comfy, things were clean. I was a little worried about the shower after reading some reviews before... More

4 of us stayed in 2 rooms on Nov. 23rd 2011. The most difficlut part of the hotel is getting there, because of the number of stairs you have to climb, but it's really not bad at all, it's easy for anyone fit enough to go to Machu Picchu. This was a great hotel overall, even though there was construction... More
