Kumul is awesome for it's birding and surrounding forest. The accommodation is good, but overpriced as are most places in PNG. The food was average. I had to keep reminding myslef that I was paying for the location and the pleasure of seeing birds of paradise come into the feeders and not so much the accommodation and food - the... More

LOCATION - Kumul Lodge is very rustic, hostel-type accommodations located about 1.5 hours from Mt. Hagen, 8600 feet high in the mountains, nearest the village of Anji Walya in the Wapenamanda area. I'm not sure why it's listed in the Mt. Hagen area, I guess because it's the closest main town, even though by no stretch of the imagination is... More

We were really impressed by everything about this hotel. We were picked up at the airport as arranged and received a very friendly welcome from Kim, Josephine and all staff. Max 1 was an excellent birding guide. The food was good and loads of it and rooms comfortable - the electric blanket was not something I ever expected to need... More

This is a beautiful location and a superbly built lodge all made from bush materials. We stayed for five nights relaxing and walking in the jungle around the Lodge and to the local villages. The meals were satisfactory and we found the staff very friendly and cooperative. The guides -(who were just the staff members) were a great source of... More

The good part about this lodge is the location, accomodation and food. The rooms are clean and beds are cofortable. On the days where no big travel group came the food was very good. A few tims when big groups came they often did not have enough food. One big group that came got our fruits as the managers in... More
