Antoine, Dar Raha's gentlemanly owner and host par excellence, is a former NGO in Africa; he has operated Dar Raha for about a dozen years. His thoughtful up-dating of a traditional house is quiet, comfortable and kasbah-like. Its lounges and dining areas are welcoming, and dinner meals are tasty Moroccan cuisine. Antoine's knowledgeable tour of the nearby ancient csar of... More

Dar Raha is a beautiful house. As Antoine said when he showed me around 'it's not just about the room, it's about the whole house'. Each room opens onto a sitting area, and there are salons, an interior courtyard and a roof terrace with a beautiful view over the old ksar of Amezrou on one side and the 'palmeraie' on... More

Why is this a better riad (traditional Marrocan family home build into a guest house) than many others? It is not the luxury or beauty of it being a rather simple place. That expresses itself in the low price of $20,- a night. It is simple and has no bathrooms en suite. But in it simpleness it is very well... More

Despite the charming French owner, this old Dar did not live up to the reviews. A dark, typical old house, it has not been kept up.....cold water only sinks in the communal bathrooms, no fans or air conditioning in the small and airless rooms, leaking plumbing, etc. The meals were good and there was hot water in the communal showers,... This is so nice ! If you see a pipe leaking, you don't tell the owner but everybody else instead. You were our only guests on that day, you had ample opportunity to raise any issues: you didn’t say a word but as soon as you are back home, you deliver a public criticism. Thank you for your will to... More

only stayed one night here but will definitely be back. antoine, the owner is so nice and friendly, and i love the way he's created this gorgeous guest house using natural and traditional building methods, and showing local art work throughout the buildings. have recommended it to all my friends, some of whom are visiting in the next month!

We took SupraTour bus from Marrakech and arrived in Zagora close to midnight. Taxi arranged by Dar Raha was already waiting for us. With a short ride, we arrived at the House of Rest. After a good night rest and breakfast, Antoine showed us around the house, which turned out to be much bigger than we expected. There are library,... More

Dar Raha – Zagora (Amezrou) After a whole day long drive with a rental car out of Marrakech, we landed just before sunset in this beautiful Riad. We had the opportunity to enjoy a great view on the roof terrace and were served a great relaxing dinner. The room was splendid and we enjoyed a good sleep; All in all... More
