I felt the need to start writing reviews because of the amazing places I have had the opportunity to visit. Also I just noticed some negative reviews about the bintang. I was most recently at the bintang in June of 2011 and plan on returning this June. The bintang is up there with my top 5 best in 20 years of... More

Firstly getting to long beach...... The ferry terminal is a frantic affair with people rushing you along onto the boat. The sign on the speedboat '12 passengers only' was completely ignored, the operators are greedy and put money above safety. There were 15 people on our boat and 14 backpacks- I'm surprised the boat didn't sink under the weight. Once... More

Bintang View has good reviews for a backpackers style accommodation and the restaurant is said to be good. The owners very friendly. I had a booking, but when I arrived, there were no guests, the restaurant was closed, one man was at the desk, but said the owner Finala was gone to Kual Lumpur and he did not know when... More

We stayed at the bintang for six nights and had a good time there. It has very basic and clean rooms with mosquito nets, a small uncomfy veranda in the front and nice view at the bay depending on which room you get. We know that the sheets get changed after every guest and because we had a room next... More

We stayed at the Bintang for 4 nights and really enjoyed the time at the Bintang View Chalet. The Bungalows are quite basic but the bathrooms and showers (shared) are extraoridnarily clean!! The bungalows all have a fan and mosquito nets and you have electricity at the huts at night - so it was hot but not unbearably hot. WiFi... More

We arrived here after a couple of sleepless nights further down the beach. We moved to a larger chalet after our first night which had a plug, which was great to charge things, however you could use one plug only - I.e charge electrical equipment or use the fan. The second chalet was larger, my boyfriend had to stoop each... More

We had booked a chalet 2 months in advance in this hotel. We exchanged a few e-mails with the owner since we wanted to be sure to have a room for our 3 nights stay. We even suggested to pay in advance. The owner got irritated and confirmed that it would not be necessary and that our room would be... More

We felt we were very unwelcome. The staff do not care about their guest. Noise from Long beach, any huts in Bintang View will hear the partying until 4am every morning down there. Too many signs showed like we were in summer camp. We witnessed the owners being rude/mocking to customers which is very unacceptable & unprofessional. Customers only can... More

Amazing island , but not so amazing service.. We stayed at Bingtang View for a few nights, the toilets and rooms are v clean, the Malay food is amazing, and the owner does good western food as well (she is western after all!). The problem with the place for lots of people is the noise from Long beach, any bungalow... More

I would describe my 2 nights at Bintang View as 2 nights from hell in the jungle. I had a dark, smelly (really bad body odor stink), damp, hot little cabin with a semi-functional fan. It was also filled with mosquitos. Maybe I did something wrong with the net, but after 2 days I had more mosquito bites on my... More
