I stayed at the Sabah Hotel in May for 3 nights with my husband, Niece and her husband. We found the Hotel excellent, swimming pool, massages, restaurants we could not fault. Also the Bell Captain, thank you for arrangeing tour cars and transfers for us. We were only booked for 2 nights, but after going to the Sepilock Jungle Resort... More

We stayed here because it had a pool which was much appreciated after being in the jungle. The breakfast had a good range and the room was average but fine for the price. It is a bit of a walk to downtown, downhill most of the way, but better to take a taxi back. The staff were not very good... More

The pool with the slide was a hit with the kids, and the setting of the hotel is lovely; very green and quiet. The rooms might be a little dated for some, but are large and comfortable. Meals were good and staff pleasant. All in all a good choice for Sandakan, and just around the corner from Agnes Keith's house... More

Stayed here for 3 days during our honeymooon, but is good for couples or families. This hotel has the potential to be excellent, but needs some work, mainly due to tiredness. A lick of paint on the exterior of the hotel and cleaning of the roof tiles would make it so much better. The rooms need a spruce up, ours... More

I normally dont like these type of establishments, but Sabah Hotel is my exception. Yes all clean, washed, sanitised, but heaps of escape outside areas, big open aired lobby area, great pool area, all the usual food scrumptious, staff attentive and extremely friendly, rooms comforatable and big.....a bit outta town, so no traffic noise. I just loved it and will... More

This is a great hotel. Unlike some others, the air and water are clean, and the lobby and surrounds do not smell of cigarettes and cheap floor polish. It has great ambience. The lobby is a wonderful place to while away the time when it becomes too hot in the sun outside. The breakfast and the restaurants are very good... More

We stayed here two nights in the end, one was unplanned when we made a hasty exit from Libaran Island. For us it was mainly a staging post to other places - to explore the turtle islands and then as an overnight before leaving for Sukau. It is, however, a reasonable base providing good facilities with a nice pool area.... More

We visited Sandakan to see the Orangutans, probiscus monkeys and the War memorial park. We saw all of the above in a day trip organised through the hotel and were very satisfied. Our tour guide was excellent and very knowlegdable. One of the more interesting parts was the water villages around Sandakan - quite incredible. The Sabah hotel was rated... More

We stayed at the Sabah hotel on three separate nights between tours. We had pre booked direct with the hotel and got a very good deal with breakfast included in a superior room. Each time we checked in we were offered an upgrade to an executive room for 30 ringit. We took this up on the last day as we... More
