We were recommended by the taxi driver and from outside you think - oh dear! but once inside greeted by the wonderful Mr Lam we felt very happy. The rooms are a good size and very clean. The bathroom is a bit old but lots of hot powerful water. The wifi was a bit intermittent but Mr Lam was on... More

We spent a night in May Fair Hotel before heading to the surrounding areas to see the sights. It may not look attractive at all (top floors of a shophouse); but very central and really good value at only RM50 a night for a no-frills CLEAN air-cond twin room. It is surrounded by shops and eateries, across from the local... More

We were a little nervous going to stay here but once we were settled in we felt very lucky! The rooms we had were very clean, lots of hot water, excellent showers, A/C worked great, wi-fi worked extremely well, and the beds were VERY comfortable. No where else would we have been able to get a tour guide as good... More

I found this hotel from one of the tour books, may be Lonely Planet, on the bus to Sandakan, after coming down from the Kinabalu peak in the afternoon and stayed the night there. The room is simple and clean with AC. the hotel has internet access with a slight fee. The hotel is across the street of the local... More

This place really does tick every box for 45 rm a night- quiet aircon, v clean, comfortable firm beds, ensuite with hot water, wifi, free DVDs and tv in every room, v central location, secondary glazing on windows and blackout curtains for excellent sleeping... I could go on! But seriously, for travellers on a budget like me, this place could... More

The owner of this hotel has thought of everything a weary traveler could ever want to need. Along With the DVD player and flat screen TV, the rooms also have AC, filtered water, clothes line in restroom, double pane windows so it's nice and quiet, router in the room for wi-fi, and wetting the bed is not aloud! He has... More

This hotel was recommended to us by fellow Australians. While a bargain at 50MYR a night there were too many negative features for us to stay a second night. The wifi did not work regardless of the number of times we asked for the correct password from the owner. There was also a cockroach the size of a mouse in... More

Arrived here not expecting too much but found a great hotel. It is cheap, but very clean and has everything one would want. Great Wifi, good aircon, a simple bathroom. I would stay here again and people moved here from other hotels on our recommendation. Mr Lum will work to find you value and the best advice in town. Stay... More
