We (two couples in our early thirties) did a 3D/2N stay in Jan 12 at KJC. The stay was fantastic, with the boat rides (elephants, orang-utans and birds) and friendliness / service of the staff being the highlights. Big thanks to Liam our guide. Room accommodation was clean and functional, without being luxurious (which is as expected given it's the... More

We booked a 3 day 2 night trip to the Kinabatangan Jungle Camp with 'Borneo Icons' http://www.borneoicons.com/ in Kota Kinabalu. Our guide Charles was a treasure, he drove us from KK to the camp, seven hours of sight-seeing and commentary on Borneo lifestyle, traditions and wildlife. The lodge was great, the rooms clean and insect free, the dining area pleasant,... More

From the moment we arrived at the pick up point to the moment we were dropped off at our next destination the staff looked after us like we were friends. Though we arrived at the jetty in the dark it was sensational cruising along the river as it created a sense of mystery and travel into a lost world. When... More

We spent 2 nights here on the "Birders Tour" which gives you 5 cruises (2 each day and one at night) and the presence of the local legend that is Robert Chong. The camp is 1.5hrs drive from Sandakan (arranged by the camp) and is perfectly located on the Kinabatangan river for spotting wild orangutans (one of which is frequently... More

We had a one night away from Sepilok Forest Edge Resort which is managed by Annie, the owner Robert's wife. This is truly a great jungle experience so don't go expecting some five star hotel. If that's what you want perhaps the jungle isn't the place for you. This place is authentic to its surroundings with wooden chalets and outside... More

Jungle and wildlife here are amazing!! Food at the KJC very tasty moreover the staff in the restaurant smiling and nice and the guide Rudy a very good person and competent. The main reason of my bad review is only regarding the owner of this place. A very smart, arrogant and money-hungry person like his wife Annie (manager of the... More

I had hesitated a lot before booking a 3d/2n package to this place as I'm not such a big fan of organised trips. However this place proved to be one of the highlights of our 4 weeks in Malaysia. The location is great along the Kinabatangan river, the food is great, but the rooms are very basic, and there is... More

We were here for two nights as part of a tour. It was a base for a number of river cruises to spot wildlife. We saw a lot of wildlife including pygmy elephants and wild orangutan. The lodge itself is ok, but there one particular odd and off-putting element. We were there on new years eve...they got the Karaoke out... More

We stayed here for one night as part of a pre-organised trip with a local guide (Mr Aji - good on birds, average on everything else). The location is the best reason to stay here; in the jungle, next to the river, easy access to the real wildlife. It has the feeling of a frontline lodge with the inessant chatter... More

Kinabatangan Jungle Camp is perfectly located on the Kinabtangan river (as other lodges in the area), but the rooms are very basic, almost severe. Overall, the camp gives a feeling of "laissez aller" : the path from the river was made of raw wood panels, do-it-yourself material was there a bit everywhere, the jetty was full of staff clothes drying,......
