Obviously has the staff taken notice of the critical remarks in the past. Despite a lack of personel we found a lovely accomodation at this resort. A clean bungalow, which has gotten into the years, but fulfilled my expectations totally. The owner turned out to be very helpful to organize some trips to the temples by riksha and boat during... My partner and I stayed here for one night whilst en route to chiang mai. We loved how nice the staff are and when we asked if they could do us a meal to take away for the night train they gave us take away boxes and little steam bags filled with brilliant food. Our night train was at 7.30pm... More

Anyone mislead by the term "Resort" could be astonished to arrive at the Old Palace. It does not offer multi-pools, impersonal butler service,award-winning opulence, hundreds of guests...just the opposite. Hurrah! We were delighted by the family's affectionate hospitality, effortless help with everything, the airy bungalows, food and great location near temple ruins . The included tuc-tuc tour was lead by... The rooms are clean, modern, big beds, light rooms with many windows, bath ok and its quiet. The price is absolutely ok and the friendly staff helps you with all your needs: tours, transit, buddhism. The boat trip was great, you can stop at every tempel you want and see how the thais live near the water. We also did... More

The best thing about this guesthouse is the staff. The bungalows themselves are quite basic but they are set amongst lotus garden, perfectly comfortable and far more traditional than many of the other hotels that we stayed in in Thailand. The hotel staff could not do enough for you. Every morning we were asked what we would like for breakfast and... More

We stayed 2 nights in the Old Palace. We are traveling with another family of 4 and had two bungalows with a connecting door. The owners placed an additional bed, the room is full then, but with the Thai weather you use the place for sleeping only anyway. It was clean enough for the price you pay. The breakfast is... More

Just outside of town (80 baht by tuk tuk from the bus). Quiet setting, private chalet. My room was airy and simple - mini bar, air con (worked ok). TV didn't work but I didn't care. The owner is really lovely - I'd recommend you eat at least one dinner there - fantastic cook. They can organise tours etc but... More

OK, to be realistic...don't expect 5 star! And we stayed in April and it was over 40 degrees and our air con did not cope well during the day. BUT!.....the lady and her daughters that own this place are awesome! The rooms are clean and comfortable, and the food from the restaurant is simple. We chose to eat there most... More
