This accommodation was a bit more expensive than we usually choose during our travels, but we felt that the experience would be worth it. We were right! We arrived in time for an excellent late lunch after bumping over appalling roads, and when we saw the Fort in the distance it was very impressive. The fact that all meals are... More

We stayed for only 2 nights and enjoyed the hospitality provided by Rajveer Singh, the Rawat, who with his brother owns the fort and land. We arrived early having travelled before daybreak from Bundi to avoid Holi festival gangs who can lightheartedly (usually) form toll-blocks on the roads . The view of the fort, overlooking the Chambal river, was stunning.... More

We arrived late evening having driven for what seemed hours along monsoon damaged roads. Having taken a wrong turning we picked our way through the village which was dark and foreboding. We finally arrived at the darkened ruins of a buiding and were met and taken into this very heritage, heritage buidling. We were taken to our room where the... More

I am surprised by some of the negative comments about this hotel. I thought it was perfectly charming. Our room was actually a suite of three adjoining rooms: bedroom, sitting room, and huge bathroom. Everything was extremely clean and comfortable. We did see a lizard in the bedroom, but he never bothered us, and we just considered him part of... More

Bhainsrorgarh Fort is a heritage boutique hotel run by Rajveer, his lovely wife Madhu and Rajveer’s brother (in Delhi at the time). There are some comments about the crumbling nature of some of the buildings, but this for me, adds to the atmosphere and authenticity of this family home, opened for me to experience. My room was beautiful and comfortable... More

I couldn't agree less with Hilla Ds review. Much of the charm of Bhainsrorgarh lies in its balance between luxury and decay. We stayed for 4 nights (myself, my husband and 2 teenage children) after travelling through hectic India for 3 weeks. We had 2 suites, impeccably appointed, comfortable and authentic without being ostentatious. The view of the sun rising... More

The best things about Bhainsrorgarh Fort "Hotel"(?), are the food that's served up, which is unfailingly good and locally authentic. Of course the views of the Chambal, over which the Fort is perched, are lovely. Old man river ripples on and on forever, differing in hue and character at different times of day. On moonlit nights it is quite special. The... More

The pros: The view, it is absolutely out of this world. The bathrooms are the best and the suites quaint, clean and comfortable. The food is lovely. The boat ride in the evening is serene and restorative. The host is courteous and attentive. The cons: The approach to the hotel is dreadful. The staff mostly understand only Rajasthani, not even... We stayed at the historic Bhainsrorgarh Fort for three nights and wished that we had booked for three weeks. The Palace/Fort is located high above a wide river in a quiet corner of Rajasthan. It is a wonderful atmospheric place and proved to be one of our top memorable places in all of India (and we must have reviewed 40... More

We stayed here for 3 nights and greatly enjoyed the spacious and well-appointed suite and the terrific location. There is plenty to do including boat trips on the river and a visit to the amazing 9th century temples at Baroli nearby. But it has to be said that the buildings beyond the wing which contains the suites are crumbling and... More
