We stayed here for 3 nights at 500rs for a double. The room was lacking in space but the bed was big and they had 24hour hot water. The location is one of the selling points for this treasure and the people we really caring and friendly.

Disappointed that Lonely Planet even put this in the budget part of their guide. this place is infested with bed bugs (which I now have). I checked out 8 other little hotels in the same area close to the golden temple and all of them had a musty smell, filthy bathrooms and dirty bed sheets. If you come to Armistar...

nice lil hotel, a good place to hang on in amritsar, prompt service, the guys at the front desk were helpful, they arranged a taxi for me travel to the border between pakistan and india. enjoyed my stay there, the place was really quiet. helped me get a bus ticket to chandigarh for nothing extra
We moved to “Lucky Guest House” after our uncomfortable night in Hotel CJ International and stayed there for one night (9/1/2011 - 9/2/2011). “Lucky Guest House” is in the walking distance from Holy Golden Temple and is really Good value for money (INR 1000 one night for four persons altogether). Guesthouse was without large claims; our room was tolerably clean...

Dont stay here, we ended up staying in this rathole because we arrived very late at amritsar and we didnt have nowhere to go. 500 Rupees for a room which hasnt been cleaned since they opened the hotel, The bathroom was horrible and the shower almost didnt throw any water. The worst thing is, that in the moment we were...

Value for money. Very good if you are not habitual to hotel like room service. Bedding is reasonable, AC is good. All in all equal to expensive hotels minus the service & shiny floors. Recommended to non-family visitors
I found this place after checking a few others out nearby. I got a great rate after negotiating (450 Rps) for a double room, big bed, bathroom with shower, no AC. I was particularly taken with the friendliness and helpfulness of the staff - I was ill during my stay (not the the hotel's fault!) and they were very nice...

The hotel is really close to the golden temple and to Jallianwala Bigh. At first I got a room up in the 3rd floor which was not that great, but after talking to Prakash he got me a better room on the 2nd floor. The hotel does not have a restaurant either, so you have to eat outside.
we moved to lucky after having a bad experience with another guesthouse in amritsar. we were shown a couple of rooms - one on the top floor and one on the 3rd floor. the one on the top floor was awful - dirty with stained sheets. the other one was really nice!clean sheets and a clean bathroom. it just pays...

We spend one night there to have a chance to visit the Golden Temple. I can confirm other reviews it is a place where the meaning of clean has never been understood. It also was quite expensive which makes things even worst. We complained but they did nothing really.
