We enjoyed our stay at Mundackal Plantation Home Stay very much. It was made unique by our welcoming hosts, Jose and Daisy Mundackal, who are outgoing and happy to share insights into their lives and the plantation life. Rooms are large and air conditioned. Wi-fi is available. Daisy’s cooking is superlative. She provides abundant, diverse food, with multiple tempting desserts.... More

Stayed here for two nights earlier this month and we couldn't have been made to feel more welcome. Being the only guests meant we were made to feel extra special, Jose and Daisy were the perfect hosts and having established a mutual love of cricket during our first lunch with them,my husband and Jose spent a couple of hours watching... We can only echo all the other 5* reviews. Of our varied excellent keralan accommodations this was the only genuine homestay where we felt we were in someone's home. Daisy's cookery lesson was very good and Jose's tour and tales were more informative than any other keralan guide. Both Daisy and Jose were up at 5.30am to see us off... More

Yummy food which helped ease our first foray into 'serious' south indian cuisine. Room and bathroom was big and clean. Beds were comfortable, though the pillows were a tad too small. One thing that I felt horribly guilty about the inconvenience to our driver as the homestay is quite a distance from other food souces. After all, given the price... More

We were greeted by Jose and Daisy and welcomed to their home. Jose suggested bird watching, washing baby elephants or taking a tour of his estate. We wanted to do it all! They grow many types of fruit, spices and vegetables, but mostly rubber. Jose generously let us see the process of rubber manufacture. Some of the rooms were a... More

The plantation is just beautiful and learning about it was completely fascinating. Jose was funny and charming, full of good stories. Daisy was warm and graciously provided us with lovely home food. Our trip to Thattekad bird sanctuary was perfect and fascinating. The trip to the elephant camp nearby was completely depressing and hard to watch...such beautful animals being chained,... More

We stayed here for two nights, just off the plane to Kochi and loved it. The plantation tour was extremely interesting, I should have recorded the details, the highlight was the rubber processing demonstration. We also had a trip to the Thattekad bird sanctuary, very pleasant, great country, saw several Frogmouths, could have done with Leech socks. Nothing was too... More

We were warmly welcomed and well cared for at Mundackal Plantation. Our room was large and had a balcony overlooking the garden ~ beyond which the rubber plantation stretches for quite some distance in all directions. Jose took us on a very interesting tour, showing us how rubber is made, and explaining other aspects of life on the farm. Daisy... More

Warm welcome from Jose & Daisy. Our room was large with a lovely balcony overlooking the estate. Jose will take you on an interesting tour of the estate. Daisy will cook you lovely food which you eat with the other guests (at an agreed time) at a table creaking with the weight of all the food. Once meal time was... More

In a 16 day family holiday to Kerala we spent only 2 nights at a homestay, the rest at good hotels and in retrospect the contrast was excellent. We particularly loved going to a less travelled part of Kerala which was more rural. The bird walk gave us the opportunity of actually having a decent walk in the countryside to... More
