Terrible food, dirty linen, dirty towels and dirty carpets were the experiences. Understaffed place with very little focus on hygine. Restaurant also very bad. Not recommened at all. Good lawn and reasonable location.

The Royal Retreat is well located for exploring the beautifully scenic area all around Munnar and tea country.
The first snag was that even though I had agreed the room rate and type three times before setting off from England, and I had e mailed to confirm, neither the room, nor the agreed rate were honoured and we ended up...

Its a good place to stay. Value for money but in-house restaurant is horrible. For everything, they take 1 hour to prepare even if you pre-order 30. min before you land to eat. Food was average. Expected some local dishes but found none. We ended up going next door restaurant
We had visited this resort after going through all the reviews on Trip Advisor. The Hotel turned out to be real good. We had taken up a Deluxe room facing the lawn. The rooms were cozy and the lawn was well maintained. The hotel people were also helpful. The food was good and value for money.
We stayed in the hotel for two days between 19th and 20th Dec 2011. Hotel has a very good lawn, small garden with enough seating place for spending quality time with family. Location, though little away from town, is good. Rooms were spacious.
The only thing that goes against is the restaurant service, which is very slow. Be prepared to...

The location of the hotel is charming & enchanting. Moreover a green lush garden is excellent. I strongly recommened this budget hotel for tourists. Nice to stay here. Food quality is also maintained. Only needed more numbers of serving food persons.
It is always a delight to be in Munnar. I have stayed at different hotels in munnar. As I am an avid traveler I love to experience different hotels at different places.

We visited this hotel in September 2011 and stayed a couple of days.
The location is on the road to Ernakulam and quiet. The road is very bad, full of pot holes and huge paddles, but this is the Kerala government's disregard.
The garden is very nicely cared for with fuchsia, dahlias and other flowers. We stayed in a room...
