Spent a great 4 nights here while checking out Bhuj and the villages around the area. The owner who bent over backwards to to arrange daily and onward travel - a single woman in 70's - which was extremely helpful - at the price one doesn't expect the Taj Mahal in Mumbai and found that I met several interesting people... Nobody's going to make claims for the comfort of the beds or for luxury furniture and fittings, but hey, at the price, what do you expect? What you get is a wonderful location, behind the still-lovely Aina Mahal. The earthquake which destroyed much of Bhuj has left its mark on hte Aina, but looking out through the ruined outer wall... I can't understand this place's popularity. I suspect a Lonely Planet recommendation has a lot to do with the foreign tourists it draws. It's a pretty awful and dirty place. The rooms are cheaply done up. The bathrooms are small and dingy with no place to store any toiletries. The buckets and mugs are grimy and slimy. If it wasn't... More

We stayed here for three nights and it was a good stay. The owner was very helpful with everything from directions, restaurant recomendations and organising rickshaws. This was a good spot to explore the nearby palaces, and the rest of Bhuj. The food at the restaurant was good and had prompt service. Lots of foreign tourists and we all shared... More

Wonderfully friendly backpacker hotel with a great location and reasonably priced, clean rooms. Inviting common areas with maps, guidebooks, book swap etc. I moved here from the more fancy Mangalam, Gangaram's room #8 (second floor, facing the street, view of Aina Mahal) was better than than the tiny, stuffy, windowless single at the Mangalam! Mini water boiler in the bathroom... More

For the price you pay, this is a decent place. The rooms are OK, very basic & not the cleanest. The bathroom badly requires repair especially of the flush & warm water supply tap The owner Mr.Jethi is an excellent help & guide & is always eager to help you The food served in the restaurant was excellent & we... This hotel is situated in a little and dusty road, in the city center but without the traffic noise. The room was clean, but there in the bathroom there was a sign that says “don't wash your clothes in the bathroom”... The owner is very kind; he gave me a name of a good restaurant and we talked about India... More

Lovely building, but the room we got was unpleasant. It was small, rather dirty, stuffy and hot - with a tiny fan that only affected half the bed. There was AC, but the price doubles if you use it and this place is certainly not worth Rs 1000 per night. We had made a booking based on recommendations here and... More

Close to the old city and to the market, Gangaram is a convenient place to stay in. The rooms however are extremely dirty and I am not sure anyone ever cleans them. The food is not good at all and overpriced, so are the other services offered by the guest house. Laundry rates are extortionate and you might find yourself... More
