I live in Siwa and I've been taking groups of friends and tourist to the restaurant of the hotel regulary for the last couple of years. The place is very beautifully designed, the stuff is firendly, the food... used to be better. Yesterday though, when I came with a small group of guests (people) for lunch I asked wheather they... Booked in for three nights and stayed for six. It's unique architecture and style set it apart from the other hotels in the centre of the oasis. Spacious rooms cooled by a ceiling fan and plenty of hot water. Be aware that Siwa is home to giant ants and other bugs which are hard to exclude. The Kenouz restaurant on... More

I unfortunately had only 2 nights at this lovely hotel in Siwa. Upon arrival in the village, Mohammed who works at the hotel, transported us the short distance from the bus stop to the hotel (we had travelled from Cairo to Marsa Matruh and then another bus from there to Siwa). Check in took no time at all, we were... More

This was one of the few hotels in Siwa (and Egypt generally) that you could book online. While they were showing their age a little, the rooms and fittings were really atmospheric and the stone bathroom was beautiful. The linen used were really nice but the bed could have been a little more comfortable. The room itself was really large... More

Shali Lodge has been for me a great inspiration; the design of the rooms are the result of an exceptional talent. I don't think I've ever made so many pictures of a hotel room. The hotel has a very professional staff and the restaurant on a lovely roof terrace has the best kitchen in Siwa. Shali Lodge=a big winner. More

Stayed 4 nights at the Shali lodge as part of a personalised tour, with my mother. The accomodation was clean, quiet and quaint in a good way. Despite being both at the height of summer and at the end of Ramadan we were treated with the utmost courtesy and served delightful local meals. The location, so close to the centre... More

A lovely hotel - relaxing place, designed with a 'rustic chic' sort of feel. Spacious room, large bed (even though it was categorised as a single room). Large clean stylish bathroom with good shower. Satellite TV. Friendly staff. Good food on the roof top restaurant. I've knocked a star off the service because although staff were very nice I still,... More

My wife and I took my parents to Siwa when they came to visit us in Egypt. We didn't know what to expect and were a little hesitant to spend so much (at the time it was around $70US per night for a double). We were VERY glad we had chosen this hotel. The rooms were very quaint, with palm... More
