We booked just one night at the Hotel el Libertador, and ended up staying three nights more. Ok its not flashy, but it is very clean, most rooms are quite spacious, very light, airy, and great value for money. There are marble? tiles in the entrance ways so it does look welcoming upon arrival

We stayed only one night at the Hotel Libertador as we did not get into town early enough to get a ticket for the Wednesday train. The Libertador was a clean hotel right across the street from the station and we had a balcony room that overlooked the station. No breakfast here like other places but the room with bath...

The hotel is right across from the train station (to the Devil's Nose) and along the main strip in Riobamba with many shops, restaurants and bars. Rooms are inexpensive and although the facilities are pretty basic, the essentials are there - TV (a few channels are in English), phone in room, shower with hot and cold water and good water...
