Four of us booked the 8 day canoe-camping tour to the Peruvian border. The farther we got from Lago Agrio, the more we saw. Birds, monkeys, frogs, pink dolphons and caimans galore. Followed jaguar, tapir and deer tracks from the 2nd day on down the river. The flooded forests are incredibly idyllic, like out of a dream. No one except the army outposts for a hundred miles. Food was good and plentiful and Freddie, owner and guide, was up for whatever excursion we chose and did what he could to make us comfortable. Beware of the ants! more
