We stayed at the Peony Hotel on October 4-5 2011, and used it as a base to visit the nearby Shaolin Temple and Longmen grottoes. The hotel is adequate. The hotel is good and looks magnificiant from outside from its looks. The rooms were big, neat and clean but the carpets in the room were emmitting an peculiar odour which was quite distressing.However not all th rooms had this peculiar odour from the carpets! The city of Luoyang was great, but this hotel was average. The bed was hard- like most in China, and the food was less then apetizing. The staff was limited in English but friendly. I would try to find something a little better next time. More
