My husband and I spent two nights at the Pousada Penareia. We enjoyed our stay and was very pleased with Fernanda and Klaus' (the owners) hospitality. Our room was spacious and very clean. It also had a small balcony with a hammock. No air-conditioning (I think some rooms do have a/c), but there was a good ceiling fan. The pousada's common area, on the second floor, is large and airy, with couches, books, TV, beanbags, and game tables.
Breakfast was included and was very good (the oregano and herb toasts were especially tasty). In addition to the array of pastries, breads, cereals, and fruit, we were also offered freshly made waffles and cheese puff pastries.
The pousada has direct beach access and even a small deck overlooking the water (beware - there are mosquitos!) The waves are high and seemed to draw a lot of good surfers.
