We found it hard to find good hostels in Rio and The Mango Tree was the best by far. The staff were very helpful - they even let us store our stuff there in the week before we checked in. Facilities were clean, and the transfers they organised were good too. More

Mango Tree is a great hostel in a fantastic location - literally 2 seconds from the infamous Ipanema Beach. We had the presidential suite which was fantastic - clean spacious room and showeroom with a wall TV. There was also free internet and a cute little bar out back. The Mango Tree is the nicest hostel in Rio we found (and we stayed at a fair few). Large rooms with lockable storage lockers. Clean, new and well maintained. Beautiful bathrooms.
