We stayed at the Che Lagarto Copacabana Suited for a week, and loved it. The price is right, the neighbourhood is nice and safe, the rooms are clean - and well beyond normal hostel standard. The price of the room was to be paied in $ only and the staff didn't tell us about it when we checked in.
