I stayed at the Windsor Barra for a conference, and I had a wonderful time there. Unlike many other parts of Rio, it's pretty safe in Barra. My wife and I stayed at the Windsor Barra for 3-days. The hotel is very nice but very few employees speak english. The girl at the front desk that could speak english, her name was Gaberlia, (not sure of correst spelling) was not nice and at time very rude. I would not stay at this hotel again. tom more

It was a wise decision since it was a nice hotel to stay in especially when you travel with elder people, which was the case. I stay at Windsor Barra last September for a Conference. We were a group of 6 people from Portugal. The hotel is very good decorated, excellent location for a great beach. The double rooms are very good but all to the left or right side of the hotel. Very clean and all the staff (including cleaning staff) was very helpful... more

This is essentially a modern business conference hotel and for that, it works well. For a family, there are better beaches in Rio although there is nothing wrong with that stretch, but there are few activities for kids etc. Its safe and secure. General staff were above average and the conference staff are superbly helpful. The internet is iffy but... more

A standard, functional option in Barra. Beach right opposite, and the views were nice, except for the rain! Room was fine with a little balcony, which was nice. Breakfast was nothing exceptional, but OK, likewise for dinner. more

In agreement with other reviewers - the only reason we were booked at this hotel was a conference. Since this property is used often for business, the hotel should adopt a more enlightened internet policy. $50US for a 24 hour wireless connection is absurd, after paying hundreds per night for a room. One of the nicest hotels I have stayed in. Great staff and service One of the greatest beaches in the world.... I WOULD recommend anyone to stay at this hotel. Learn some Portugese as it is cheaper to take the cabs parked outside than to use the drivers waiting outside. more
