It's a good hotel, the receptionists are professional and helpful. The view from the windows is not impressive (I had a window to the street with another tall building facing me...). The breakfast is very good.

Good position near the beach of Copacabana.
Good break fast.
The room are quite big and quite clean.
We don't like only a thing: the people of the reception try to sell us an expansive tour through Rio...Explain us that Rio is a dangerous city and only with the tour we will be safe!... But for us all that is...

Copacabana Mar is right in the heart of Copacabana and is very clean. The personnel are knowledgeable and helpful.
The hotel itself is nothing to fancy, but it does have a very nice small pool and fantastic shower pressure with endless hot water. Book in advance online and get a good rate, well bellow walk in prices.

It's not a fancy hotel but it has all those three things all travellers want: good price, goode location and good service.
The rooms are clean and they have no smell (like other hotels in Rio). The breakfast is simple and is always the same, but covers the "basics" (fruits, bread and some other things). The location is fantastic. It's...

The hotel is located 2 blocks back from Copacabana beach, in a reasonably quiet neighbourhood, though the internal rooms face into a courtyard surrounded on all sides by other multi-storey buildings, which can cause some noise if you are unlucky.
The bedroom was perfectly adequate with a comfortable, though not large, double bed, a good flatscreen TV, bar fridge, slightly...

Nothing special for the prices they have.
Internet doesn´t work. After waiting for 5 hours, telling us "It will work", they decided to give us another room, but it didn´t work neither. At the end we went to an Internet cafe.
Nowadays I can´t consider a Hotel without internet.

I have just returned from a trip to Rio with a friend for 4 days staying at the Copacabana Mar hotel and we were very pleased to discover the hotel was less than a minutes walk to the nearest metro station, bus stops, shops and less than 5 minute walk to Copacabana beach, coming out by Copacabana Palace hotel. The...

The hotel has a "slightly salted" outdoor pool on the top level. It is an old, average hotel, definitely not a 4-star. Not worth the price they charge. The front desk staff speaks some broken English, but they are cold and unhelpful. They were hesitant to even help us make a booking for airport transport or a sight-seeing tour. They...

This hotel isn't cheap but decently priced compared to others in this area of Copacabana. It feels dated (particularly the ancient elevators) but everything appeared to be clean. Front desk staff was generally helpful but didn't come across as a happy bunch. (When asked for a lunch recommendation, I was answered with a shrug.) Breakfast was adequate but nothing memorable....

This was a perfectly adequate hotel, but nothing special, and certainly not 4-star. The room was plain and clean, service was fine. Breakfast was OK, though not special. They were doing major construction in the lobby while I was there, so it was noisy during the day, but my room (facing a courtyard) was fine. The location was great --...
