Not too close but not too far from the beach. Same thing about the Rodrigo de Freitas Lake. Room are small but clean. Staffs are nice. Easy to get a bus to go everywhere you need just in front the hotel.

We really enjoyed our stay at Mar Ipanema. The hotel is two blocks away from Ipanema Beach in the heart of the best area. You can easily walk to Copacabana and Leblon. The free breakfast was delicious. The rooms although small are quiet, clean, and comfortable. It's pricey but it seems everything in Rio is these days!!

The hotel was centrally located and walking distance to all beaches. The room was very clean, the beds were very comfortable, shower was nice. The free wireless provided good connectivity.
