For the price being paid you'd expect they'd do something to reduce the noise in the rooms. Didn't sleep very well unfortunately although our room was very clean and the staff efficient/friendly. The breakfast buffet was good. Location is perfect for beach access and the Rio Shuttle stops at this specific hotel which is very handy when getting to/from the... More

Perfect location on Copacabana. Rooms and hotel a little run down. Good breakfast. Good value for money.

The breakfast was great, crowded but replenished with a nice variety. The view was great and the bathroom and mini bar were sufficient. Staff was super cool. Thanks.

Staff were quite helpful, but could not offer any excursions unless they were paid for in cash. Bedroom carpet filthy, stains everywhere. Room had a horrible smell so tried to open window - mistake...it would not close again! The location was excellent, and the breakfast was very good too, but would not want to stay there again.

I'll start off with the great things about the hotel: the friendly, efficient staff and the perfect location. The hotel is in a great location in Copacabana, as close as you can get to the beach, and with lots of shops and restaurants nearby. The breakfast was terrific, but don't go for soggy scrambled eggs. There are delicious, tropical fruit... More

I was recently in Rio for Carnaval, and stayed at the Olinda Othon. The hotel itself is a little bit older, but it is in the perfect location in Copacabana. It is right in the middle of the neighborhood, and is right on the beach. The only problems in the room that I noticed was: the shower is kind of... More

Do not stay at this hotel!!!!! I was there in the beginning of February 2012... And the only thing I am sorry for is not taking pictures and movies of this hotel! Totally overpriced, horrible stained rooms, I changed 3 rooms because of the missing cleanliness ... Horrible bathrooms. Taxis in front always extra-charge you! Breakfast is ok but without... More

Apart fron the location, this hotel is awfull. The carpet in all the rooms is dirty, the a/c does not work and the outside windows probably date from the 20's. To continue, the staff doesn't speak any language except potughese is mostly unhelpfull and lacks any training whatsoever. All this for nearly 300 euros/ night.

The Olinda Rio Hotel is an old hotel right on Copacabana Beach. We stayed two nights and loved being in the centre of the action. The hotel is a little tired and needs some TLC, but the $255 per night was cheap compared to lots of the other hotels on this stretch of beach. Hopefully the new owners will do... More

The very friendly staff and good breakfast spread make this place. The rooms were comfortable, although very plain with a rather dated decor and old. Great location, close to the beach.
