Perfectly situated on Copacabana, it's convenient to Ipanema Beach and Sugarloaf Mountain. Nice little neighborhood and easy strolling to night markets. Rooms are very nice and a great spread for breakfast - also with great views. Rooftop pool overlooks beach as well as up to Christ the Redeemer.

Couldn't afford the copacabana so went for a hotel with a high rating even though still expensive. Hotel was a 3 star at best. Rooms are old and dated. The Porto Bay is worth every penny. This is a boutique-style hotel, right on the beach and with exemplary service. Our room had expansive views of Copacabana. Having seen the previous reviews of this hotel, I was quite optimistic about staying there. I stayed there for 6 nights, and became less and less impressed with it for each day. I was not easy to me to choose a hotel in Rio. All hotels are so exepensive!! Porto bay Rio is not cheap, but it is worth.It has got great rating in tripadvisor and could not say anything more. We stayed here 5 days and thought the views from the pool bar (top floor) were amazing. Our room was large and very clean. We had a small balcony and partial view of the beach.
