A very nice and confortable hotel right at the end of Copacabana, just a corner away from Ipanema. Not as busy and fussy as other hotels at the center of Copacabana, it has great modern rooms, the staff is very friendly and helpful. Very good breakfast with a lovely view of the beach. more

Can't say impressed with most of the hotels in rio but this was probably the pick of the ones I've stayed at. Very nice modern room, excellent concierge are two notables. The breakfast wasn't as good as I've had elsewhere (the melon wasn't great - how could they!?!?) and the toilets in the lobby required gymnastics to move around in.... more

I stayed in this hotel for 6 nights and during my stay i found the hotel to be well posistioned for Copacabana town and the beach and also just a short walk from Ipanena. If you like to sit in the sun on the beach you will find that you will need to use both beaches to get maximum enjoyment.... more

The Sofitel was wonderful! Located at the very end of Copacabana Beach, it is a great location and close to Ipanema and great shopping! The rooms are modern and clean (as they should be for what you pay to stay here!), and I would definately recommend staying in a Luxury room! If your budget can stretch to it, I would definately recommend finding a hotel with beach views and balconies, and the Sofitel Rio seems to have the best open balconies of all. Being able to see the street life on Copacabana in the early morning and the sunsets in the evening from the comfort of your own room is brilliant.... more

I had an excellent stay for three nights at the Sofitel. It is in a fantastic location at the far end of Copacabana Beach and five minutes walk from Ipanema Beach.
