Rooms are OK and wireless Internet good for free service. A little isolated so you need transportation to get around. Dinner was poor. A rather strange thing happened when I ordered my white wine. The wine waiter opened the bottle and took a glass and tasted a little bit! Then brought the bottle to my table and went through the... More

An apparently old building, with mood on the corridors, smelling like urine, people smoking in an non-smoking environment, some bugs in the room, not to mention a problem with my key that was set up by changing my room! After you unpack, imagine repack in 5 minutes to be changed to another room? Wasting my business time!!! People are NOT... More

This hotel has all the assets to be a good hotel, however it is totally disappointing. Rooms are dirty and smell bad. I have read the reviews made by the brazilians and my complaints are repeated all over. Many reports of stolen objects from the rooms. Food sucks as well as the hotel internet service. For the same abusing price... More

Unfriendly staff during check in. Very poor Internet connection. Very high price for the service. If you know only English, ensure you learn the menu before ordering!

I don't understand the negative reviews here. I stayed twice last week - two separate nights and the hotel was adequate and reasonable price in a very expensive city. The Internet is free not paid as stated in another review and although wired in the rooms was wireless in the lobby. Room was clean and comfortable in a good neighborhood... More

I am working in Rio and so I am for a long while. Transamerica is the worst hotel from that category I have stayed in the city. There is no proximity to the beach, few options to eat around the hotel (unless you really want to walk or pay a taxi), the room size is enough for someone that will... More

As usual in rio, you don't get service at all, but this hotel with such expensive rates it's terrible. We stayed for a week and this is what happened: lights that don't work and they never fixed them, the door lock was broken the first day and ghess what?? it was broken last day, we had to left the door... What a mess! Unfortunately there is nothing positive i can say about this hotel. Service is lousy, the hotel stinks, rooms are small, paid internet (slow and expensive). I spent one week there and surely breakfast was the worst i ever experienced in any hotel. I gave up eating there after the 2nd day, it's really terrible. The same can... More

This was my first time in this hotel. I didn't choose it - the company put me here. Checking in was easy, but when I left the elevator in my floor I felt some strange smells, like someone had urinated all over the hallway. Inside the room a different but also bad smell. I ordered food in my first night,... More

If you can't afford the Sheraton on the Barra beach front (which isn't all that special for 300gbp/night) then this is unfortunately as good as it gets for hotels in Barra - there are only 3! What most people say is true - it is shabby and the food is bad, the lifts are slow, the service is 2nd rate... More
