We stayed a couple of days in the Casa da Carmen e do Fernando. We really enjoyed this house, its ambience and its vibe. The view is wonderful. The food is delicious. The art on the walls is really something. There's always good music in the Casa. Very romantic stay overall.

This house has a really nice vibe- it's clear the owners put a lot of thought into designing it. Tiny details attest to the care that went into creating the rooms and public areas. The vibe is very friendly, artsy and laid back and the other guests were of all backgrounds and ages. The house sits on a steep hill... More

This was my 2nd trip to Rio and I knew from the first time that I wanted to stay in Santa Theresa. It has a less touristy more Brazilian feel to it. And within Santa Theresa this place just has a really cool aura about it. Beautiful historic home with a great view of Centro and the bay. It has... More

I was in Rio alone for a weekend and was looking for a reasonable place in Santa Teresa where I would meet other chill travelers in their late 20's-30's. I also wanted good recommendations since I prefer to follow my nose than buy guide books. This place was perfect! Natalie, who runs the place, was so friendly and helpful recommending... More

Lovely, homely, accommodating gem of a place in Santa Teresa. Santa Teresa itself is charming and we felt very safe. Great views from the terrace out to centro and the bay below. Room was fairly basic but cosy and clean, with french doors opening out to the terrace and plunge pool. Great breakfast. Above all, the staff/owners were excellent -... More

It's an excellent place to stay, the staff is very friendly and the atmosphere relaxed. Furthermore is located in the beautiful neighborhood of Santa Teresa, where you can enjoy an intense cultural life at night when you return from the beach.

Considering you are in Rio, this BB is not so expensive. It's interesting if you want to stay around in Santa Teresa, but you will spend a lot of money in cabs (that are hard to find) to go to Copacabana or Ipanema. The room is ok and also eh staff

This peaceful b&b, although close, was a world away from the hustle and bustle of Rio. Natalia greeted us and it felt as though I'd known her for ages as we had had lots of emails back and forth planning the trip. She had arranged the taxi for us from the airport, which went smoothly.  We were introduced to Carmen... More

Our first stay in Brazil: it was a good one! We forgot we were so tired meeting the lovely lady of the house who makes you feel so welcome. Then we saw our room with the doors to a great terrace with a panoramic view of the city: at night all the city lights are dazzling! Take the time to... More
