Rio 180 is a nice boutique hotel with a great pool, nice breakfast and breathtaking views. We thought the value was just ok, but the staff was very friendly and helpful during our stay. Located in a nice little residential zone of the city, we thought the rooms were quaint and the stay overall very positive.

The views must be some of the best in Rio - Guanabara Bay, Corcovado, and jungle covered hill sides. The staff are all extremely helpful and ready to advise on how to get the best experience of Rio. Neighbourhood is pleasant and fairly quiet. On the downside you need to get a taxi or bus to reach downtown. Buses take... More

We stayed at 180 hotel for 2 nights and that's enough. The views are wonderful, especially from the terrace where delicious breakfast is served. The rooms though are tired and need renovation. When we entered our room (Copacabana), it smelled and was humid. The design is very nice, but the shower was leaking ( a lot of water on the floor)... More

It was one of the most enjoyable says in my life. The view, as implied by 180 degree Botique encompassed Christ the Redeemer, Sugarloaf, and Cobacobana Beach. It was a short taxi ride to beaches and shopping, however, at days end it was quite and peaceful and a snug harbor for weary souls. The day starts with breakfast in the... More

Santa theresa is a great place to stay, as they say: it's the mont martre of rio.. excellent breakfast, very welcoming staff, and big rooms, not mention the comfortable beds... we stayed there for 10 days, it was really hard to leave this place...

Small intimate, off the beaten track, boutique hotels are not for everyone. I found Rio 180 on line. I have stayed in other boutique hotels in the past, some VERY expensive, all like Rio 180, in some of the most beautiful places on earth. I like the intimate personalized feeling you get. Not many rooms, all with a unique name,... More

keep this location a secret, it is one for the "in crowd" only. Brazil's only true Boutique hotel in the strictest sense. European management, English speaking and extremely helpful staff, great food, better views, close to everything. wonderful simply wonderful.

Dont listen to bad reviews, they are out of date anyway, the staff are friendly, the new owner, Jean, speaks perfect english and can't do enough to help. Well, the view is great and the rooms are also excellent. Pool is cool. However, you are well outside the city and also outside Santa Teresa, so you definitely need a taxi (which from the beach or center can take some time depending on the traffic). Breakfast is rather poor. English is spoken (depending on who is at the reception).
