lovely court yard with small pool. the breakfast is good too, it's great to get all this fresh fruit everywhere in brazil. the thing I didn't like in this hotel were the smelly rooms. they told me it was the wood?? I didn't know that wood could give such a foul smell and would defently change for other material and... More

Although having a residence in Belem, I happened to need a place to stay for a few days while some renovations where done.  Belem is a very expensive city for hotel rooms, with typical thrift chains with average (and small) rooms charging over us$100-150. I feel that the 'Le Massilia' was a nice little find because it's conveniently located for... More

Beautiful lodgings, just off the main square (Praça da Republica), with a swimming pool, waterfall and spacious, tastefully decorated rooms. Roomsafe. French-run. Wifi in "all rooms" and worked ok when I tested it on booking, but only occasionally in the room I was given on check-in. It would be good if this could be fixed as it is a very... More

This place is conveniently located as it is walking distance to most sights. There are few places in Belem representing good value and this is one of them. It has a small and relaxing pool. The restaurant is good and so is breakfast. The staff is generally helpful. The room was perfectly adequate but a bit dark. Overall, a good... More

This hotel is seedy, like something out of a Graham Greene novel. Seems to be in the throes of remodeling, but still it looks half finished. The room smelled like disinfectant and unidentified nasty stuff. The bed is not great and the AC is loud. The pool is turbid. The french restaurant is overpriced- chewy filet mignon- and has a... Good afternoon, I see that do you like to read adventure thrillers with the hero staying in peculiar hotel in doubtful quarter . It will be better for you to go direct to the hilton hotel without looking for something cheaper. About the swimming pool, sometimes whe have a problem with the water but usually we correct that on the... More

Through the more than 47 years we have resided in Brazil, I have stayed in at least a half dozen hotels in Belem, some of which have changed names and locations. I discovered Le Massilia on "Trip Advisor" before our recent trip to the State of Para. The price is right, the breakfast is excellent and the staff and the... More

O Hotel é agradável mas o staff é sem educação, sem informação e arrogante. Não recomendo.

Belem is a city of 2 million with very few viable hotel choices. Most of what there is are sterile, high-rise, second rate hotels. Le Massilia is the exception. Well located convenient to the city's sights yet in a quiet and safe neighborhood, the hotel is only 2 stories high and is focused on a pretty tropical courtyard with a... More

Nice little B&B/inn opening up to a large courtyard with, a pool, out/indoor delicious restaurant for breakfast, a lovely area for guests to recharge and relax. Surrounding by verandas and cross breezes, creating a lovely ambiance. The room was a good size with an en-suite clean bathroom. Do not get the front room that has a flashing light through the... This hotel was a pleasant surprise. Lots of tropical plants and verandas on both floors surrounding a small pool and outside sitting area. There is also a very good restaurant serving French food and excellent pizza. Breakfast was good with the typical Brazilian cakes, breads, juices, fruits, teas and coffee. The staff were quick to act on any request and... More
