The hotel isn't fancy but the location and large-sized rooms are perfect for dropping your bags and seeing the city. It is next door to the awesome Sunday morning market and across the street from the municipal park. The front desk staff speak English and are very helpful. There is a complete breakfast buffet with something for everyone.
They say Othon used to be the best hotel in town for many years, but, truth is, not everyone is lucky enough to age gracefully. The whole downtown area has gone decadent and it shows.

The service is pretty nice and the noise problem seems to have been solved. The outdated furniture and smelly carpet are still there though. They should refurbish it urgently! It does not worth 200R$ per night.
